Leave a legacy
| Leaving a legacy to charities is fast becoming a very popular way of
helping others when you've gone. By leaving a gift to the church in your
will, you will help make an important long-term contribution to our
work. There are two kinds of legacy you can leave, and both
are free of inheritance tax; so all you need to do is tell your
solicitor, or will writer, that you would like to leave either a
Residuary or Pecuniary Legacy to us. We're always extremely grateful to receive gifts from generous benefactors and so it's easy to set-up; we have provided a guide for each kind of legacy below. |
A Residuary Legacy is the best way to help us. This kind of legacy means you can leave all, or part of, your estate once your family and friends have been provided for. A legacy like this is of great help to us as it helps us to plan and finance services that are needed.
Pecuniary Legacy
A Pecuniary legacy is a fixed sum of money. This kind of legacy is also useful, but if you make a will early, without updating, inflation can slowly erode the value of your gift and may not reflect what you had intended to give at the time.
